Levelling

These things count towards your Level experience 1.
Once you have reached a certain amount of Level exp, you will gain the [upgrade] option next to your Level in the sidebar. The only way to see how close you are to levelling is to visit the Fortune Teller in China.

Holding Level

This is a game tactic used by people who want high stats, but a low level.
To hold your level, simply don't press the [upgrade] button, for as long as you wish.
This can be helpful for people who are losing a lot of battles against people their own level, and people who want to surprise opponents of a much higher level than them.
Keep in mind that there are many drawbacks to this tactic.

What would you suggest the best way to get your level up is?

Aerozol: To level, attacking and leaving people is definately the quickest way, and if you can find someone way higher level than you, with bad stats that you can beat, you can level quick. But remember, if you're doing that you can't train, and you might eventually be that same high level that gets attacked by everyone ;)

ok so here is my theory on nerve it fluxuates up and down based on crimes lvls dont realy have anything to do with it. I think the best way to get your nerve up is to do crimes you know you never get busted at then when you think your ready move on if you fail then move back. I know if you jump from say 20 to 25 and you try a bigger crime then you will lose all that exp gained and you will fall back to 20 until you can move back up through exp.

That's great and all, but how do you find those people? Stats don't just appear on profiles, and it takes forever to get points to refill an energy bar right away, or five hours if you don't have any points to use, if you make the wrong decision and get the bump kicked out of yourself.

well, if you don't want to waste your energy, you can go to the userlist, and search by offenses. When you get to a person around your level, check them out. If they haven't played in like 300 days, its probably safe to attack them. Personally, I attack Curppa (69373). He's only got an mp5 and hits like 20s at most on me (but i'm level 9 with like only 800 stats lols).

If you lose often, maybe you need to train your stats more... Some people offer lists of people who're inactive/ high level and lows stats with no weapons for a price, try the Trading Post in the forums.
Otherwise it's trial and error. There's no magic way of finding out... Unless you use the Army Job's spy special :)
And what bob said

what affects the exp i gain from attacking and leaving a person?
what affects the most?

TCB: Level is believed to be the only thing that affects how much exp you gain from attacking a person. (eg higher level= more exp)

Maybe you should add how much HP you get per level upgrade on here, could help some people out ^_^

TCB: Done :)

i would personally not bother about levelling up so much. It is better to hold off on your upgrade as long as possible so that if someona attacks you they are more likely to lose giving you free experience! Obviously there are some levels that people want to get to for missions, poker and travel ect, but levels are not so important.

so do u get experience from attacking the mission bots

TCB: That depends on if you hospitalize, mug or leave them. See the attacking tutorial for details. The experience gained from them doesn't differ from same level normal players (to our knowledge).

Maybe you could add the maz nerve bar for each level, it would help.

I'm level and I think im bordering level 11 because my max nerve just went up to 25. Is it just levels that affect your max nerve? Apart from spending merits..

TCB: Your nerve increases based on how much crime exp you have, it is unrelated to your level.

what if we didnt click upgrade at all. n then when the crime level is as high as ppl let say level 10 times and then only we click upgrade, will it jump to level 10 or just level 2?

TCB: You will level to level 2, and if you have enough exp, you will have a [upgrade] button until you decide to repeatedly click it until level 10.

Good question blood. I was wondering the same. Thank you TCB for answering the question.

I would like to add to that question.

If we hold back on upgrading our level, and say we have about 5 possible upgrades on our level, does our upgrade option show us how many upgrades we have available, or does it show us how high we will be able to level up?
In other words, say I am level 15 and I've gained enough experience to level up to 20. Will I know this, without clicking on the upgrade for level 16? Or will I not know how high I can level, untill I keep clicking the upgrade button?

Thanks TCB. :)

Aerozol
Nope, Az_Critter, it just says [upgrade], even if you have enough exp to level up 20 levels.
Even if you go to the fortune teller in China (tells you your leveling exp), she will just tell you that you have 100% exp to level.
Holding levels is good for being stronger than you appear, especially in wars, but downsides are the lack of the leveling benefits above, and getting less job points, and hit points (I hold my level).

what is the quickest way to level by is it crime or attacking and leaving people

TCb: Attacking and leaving people, but you make yourself a target if you neglect training stats in favour of attacking- especially since the higher level you are, the more exp you give players when they attack and leave you...
