Updating:
Option 1
1. Go into mIRC and press Alt+R
2. Go View>Chainbot.mrc
3. Open up this TCb page and copy the code
4. Go back to mIRC and select the entire code shown (Ctrl+A) then press the Delete key.
5. Paste the code you just copied from the TCb page.
6. Go File>Unload
7. Go File>Load - Chainbot.mrc
Option 2
1. Delete the mIRC folder where the bot resides
2. Download and unZip the new chainbot
What's the difference?
Option 1 will keep all your settings and stored IDs. Option 2 will be a complete and fresh install with none of your customizations, saved files, or logs.
Usage:
1. Give the bot a name and register the nick through nickserv (/ns register
2. Now give the bot access on your faction's chan (/cs access #chan add
3. When members join the channel and are able to chain have them type "!chaining". When they are done chaining have them type "!notchaining"
4. To start a chain type "!chain on"
5. When they hosp someone have them paste the "You continue to beat.." to add their victim to the chain count.
6. If chainers are unable to get to IRC and are able to talk to someone who is on IRC, have the person logged onto IRC type 911 and the person's name who did the hosp. This will also add to the chain count.
7. When you start a new chain type "!respect *****" replacing * with your actual respect. At anytime during the chain after you have done so you need only paste "Respect: ******" straight from your faction info page to see how much respect you have gained during the chain.
Chainbot V2.9.2 Code:
Please make sure you copy ALL of the code, otherwise it might not work properly
Commands:
Chainer Commands
!chaining will let people know that you are chaining and give you voice.
!notchaining will let people know that you have finished chaining and takes your voice away.
Copy the hospitalization screen into irc to add a kill to the chain count.
911 [nick] will report a hospitalization for nick. This can be used if the copy/paste for the hosp didn't work(ex 11), or for someone who can't log into IRC (ex !extra msnBuddy).
!chain will display the current chain count.
Chain Control
!chain on will turn the bot on. !chain off will turn the bot off.
!reset [killcount] resets the chain count to 0 by default(ex !reset). Specifying killcount resets the chain count to a different number (ex !reset 23).
!chain fast/slow turns a "4 minutes left" warning on/off
Respect commands
!respect current_respect initializes the respect. This should be done before the killing begins.
Paste the respect from your faction's information page to see how much respect you've gained since the start.
!resgain displays the current respect change.
Utility commands
!silent on/off will stop the bot from responding to chain commands.
!part will force the bot to leave the channel. If a chain is ongoing only hops, ops, admins, and owners can make the bot leave. (!part)
!guide [nick] if they do not know how to chain. You may simply type !guide if you yourself need help chaining (ex !guide nick)
!calc equation to have it calculated (ex !calc 3*5)
!addid nick id will associate a numeric id to nick within the bot
!id nick will display nick's id.
When the chain is turned off (!chain off) I will only respond to !id, !chain, !respect, and !calc functions.
