Profile Video

There are a few steps to getting a video into your profile (if you already have a video on your computer, and aren't getting one from a site you can skip to 'Converting the video to .swf');
Finding a video
We're using a video from Youtube as an example, Google video, or any other site works as well, as long as you can download it (see next step).
If the video you need isn't encoded you might be able to skip most of these steps, just go to the putting flash into your profile tutorial. These steps are if you can't download the video, or get its url because it's protected (eg youtube, google video).
Getting a imbedded video file downloader
Using firefox this is quite an easy process, Go to Tools > Add ons > Get Extensions. If you don't have firefox, you can get it here.
This window should pop up:

Pick the category 'Download Tools' and select one from the list an add on that can Download from wherever you're getting your movie from. We just used the first one from the list , 'Fast Video Download'.
Downloading the video
Just go into the page where the video is stored, and select your download extension, and save the video file.

Converting the video to .swf (flash)
Open the video with a flash editing program. We used Flash8 (steps may vary using other programs ).
Click the thumbnail to see a larger picture
It gives you some options on how you want to open it, this one worked fine

After some more options, which you should just select as common sense dictates, the video should be opened in your flash editor.

Save your video
The only thing left to do is to save your video. Make sure you save it as a .swf, so that it works with the [flash] tags.
Edit anything you want in this step. Length, frame size, anything you want to change, change it before saving. You can even add text or animation of your own, or make it into your profile sig! Please remember to watch your size though, the example video that we used came to over 5 megabytes, which is more than most people want to load when looking at your profile.

Done!
You should now have a flash file of your chosen video saved somewhere on your computer.
Just use the Flash Profile tutorial on this site to upload it, and put it into your profile!
