TCBasic is Back Up - Exciting Changes Ahead
Wow.
Thank you to all of the support during this downtime. We apologize taking the content of TCBasic offline for so long, we did so both to halt the spread of our proprietary information to the Torn Wiki and also because we did not fully appreciate the value of TCB to the Torn community at large.
YOU guys are what makes TCBasic run. We have some exciting changes coming to TCB and we hope you will be a part of the 'renewal' of the site. Above all we aim to be a comprehensive and easy to use help site for Torn City. Keep an eye out on this page or updates and information and feel free to leave us feedback, both positive and negative, via the contact link above. TCB always will be by and for the Torn community.

Dear TCbasic users,
We sincerely apologise about this downtime, which is in place to give us the opportunity to make some decisions about the future of TCbasic.
This change has been forced upon us by the creation of the TC Wiki and its attitudes towards plagiarism. As you may have noticed, some pages have been directly copied to the Wiki, with little or no alterations. When we attempted to inform the editors that these pages should (at least) be re-written or formatted, some wiki authors asserted that TC has 'ownership' over the contents of TCB.
The pages on TCB didn't make themselves. They are the result of hundreds of hours of work, by our staff, and many other contributors, over nearly five years now. We've tried our best in the past to give credit to our sources, and keep running the site in a manner that involves as little effort as possible from you, who it was made for, and would like to see these traditions continued.
We want your feedback on the issue!
If the Wiki operates as a carbon copy of TCB, would you keep using our site? We don't have the time or inclination to try to 'police' the Wiki. Are there any changes or additions that we could do to improve? We're currently discussing taking on a great deal of experienced staff to make sure we keep on top of future updates. Should we give our information to the Wiki, and then cease operating? We see this as a viable option, if it's in the players interest.
We apologise again for this downtime, but it was necessary to take the time discuss the issue, and to let us make good decisions for the future.
Also, it may have made some players aware of the resource that has been available to them all this time, at no effort or cost to them, and no gain to our staff. Let us, and TC staff, know that it's been useful to you, and that you'd like to see something done. It also put a temporary brake on the transferal of TCB pages to the Wiki, without any credit to any contributors and sources, which, justifiably we think, was causing some anger among TCB contributors.

this is a far better site since most stuff on torn wiki wont have been tested and will be wrong and also this sites easier to use because its easier to find what your looking for
