Stockmarket and Rule changes
Last Updated on Tuesday, 30 March 2010 07:26
The Stock Market now charges a fee of 1% on any investment removed before 6 hours have passed.
Shareholder Benefits have also been introduced, where you gain rewards after investing a sum for a certain time. You can see our info page Here , or through the Stockmarket Tutorial.
New Player Policies/ Rules have been implemented/ changed/ added. Some examples:
Slutting is now legal
You can no longer report anyone for scamming of any kind
Use of certain 3rd party software is now allowed*
A user you've ignored can no longer send you money or items
You now have the ability to add companies, factions and properties to the trade system
It is no longer illegal to post mails or other players stats in the forums
Auto-playing music/ sound in your profile is now illegal
*This includes Greasemonkey, which can be found Here , or under Tools & Calculators, thanks to hexkid.
If you haven't installed it already, we recommend taking a look.
It is out of date, but can be freely edited, as long as credit is given to the original/ past coders and helpers. We recommend that people editing Greasmonkey co-ordinate so that they're not working on code that has already been fixed/ updated or is obsolete.
Update: The TCB forums now have a Greasemonkey Section Here

This further information has been taken from TC staff posts in the forum or elsewhere.
If you are unsure of the Rule please check TC's Player Policies page!
Stockmarket:
You cannot achieve more than one benefit in any one special. Increasing the amount you invest for dividends, will not increase the dividend payouts.
No matter how much you invest, it will cost you a 1% fee if you withdraw from a stock before 6 hours is up. If the link to withdraw stock is grey, 6 hours have not yet passed since investing. It withdraws 1% of your original investment, not how much it's worth when you withdraw.
Slutting:
Slutting is when you pay a player to attack you and lose, so that you get exp from it. A slut is someone who attacks and loses for money.
This is now a new (legal) way to earn money, and level quick.
Scamming:
This means that staff no longer will investigate any reports of scamming, and all actions taken outside the safe trade system are at your own risk.
Thre is a one week grace period, in which to get your money back from investors, or take care of other business you started before this rule was changed. If someone scams you during this time, it's your last chance to report it to staff.
Greasemonkey:
Check out the Greasemonkey page under Tools & Calculators for more info.
Remember that macros, or anything that unfairly benefits the user will still be a federal offence. ("Any software that does not manipulate or modify the way the game is intended to be played is allowed though we advise you to be cautious using any such product. Any modifications that alter the system, to cause harm to the game or benefit a player in a way they did not earn is forbidden.")
Autoplay:
You have one week to remove auto-play items from yoru profile, after that staff will clear your profile if reported.
Things which can create sound may still be placed on profile as long as the sound is not automatically played when one visits your profile (eg you have to click something, or press a play button).

Can I go out to scam people safely?
the answer is: Yes, go ahead and enjoy your prey without worry being fedded and marked for deletion :)
...
I cant find anything on TC covering the trade system and it being safe!
So for e.g:
If i wanted to pay for a faction surrender. I place the money in a trade and 'post' the terms for the other player to see. So here's 1mil for your faction to accept our surrender.
If that player was to accept the trade but then not accept the surrender, is that counted as scamming and therefore legal, or is that in breach of TC rules?
I was told it constituted a Fed, but i just want to check.
TCB: No, the trading system is 'safe' because you can't be scammed when trading items/ money / factions (anything you can add to the trade), because you both have to press accept. ANY verbal agreement, that involves them keeping their side of the bargain is not enforced, and would be considered 'legal' scamming.
