Extras
A quick guide to gaining 40 nerve:
Do 50 2 nerve crimes.
Do 50 3 nerve crimes. (should get 15)
Do low 4 nerve crimes for about 100. (stay away from the ring)
Skip 6 nerve at all costs.
Work your way up to loan shark on the 5 nerve ones and stay there until you can do the second 7 nerve one. (That will get you well past 20 nerve.)
Stay with the second 7 nerve crime until you have a total of 5000 thefts. (you will know this when you get the 5000 thefts merit.)
You will now have a 30 nerve bar or maybe even a 35.
Do stealth virus for 1000.
Start warehouse arson. (Should get 40 nerve about 300-500 in)
There is your quick and easy route to 40 nerve.
•Busting: Busting is a very good form of gaining exp. The higher the level and time you bust the more exp you gain. If you get caught busting you do not lose exp. The higher your dex the better chance you have of succedding.

Just thought I'd point out I'm a level 22 living in a mansion with a 30 nerve bar and I've been doing Counterfeiting Credit Cards for awhile now with almost 100% success.
I can't really speak to the XP gains, as I've only done about 100 or so, but it doesn't seem to be very difficult at all. With an average payout of close to 60k probably, it is a fantastic source of money though.

I've been stuck at 30 nerve for over 4 months, and I'm really starting to wonder if I should just go and grind some 4 nerve crimes to up my numbers. I have well over 1000 arsons and I've now started doing counterfeiting on a whim (I've done ~30 in a row with no reds or browns yet). These guides are the not the be-all-end-all, and I wouldn't be surprised if your criminal record and crime totals determines something as well. Counterfeiting is supposed to be difficult even at 40 NB, but my fraud count is already really high from arsons and it's a cakewalk for me.
What if crime total determines your max nerve bar, and the individual sections control the success rates for those types of crimes?

I just thought that I would let people know that I am currently at Nerve 40 and I do the "Hank in Bank Mainframe" (18 Nerve) with almost all successes. I'm sure that it helps that I once had my Nerve 45 (from kidnapping mayor) but had lost it, and I also have upgraded the crime success rate 4 times (so + 12%).
I'm just saying this to remember that everything on here is not an exact science, they don't know how everything on TC works. The best thing to do is try things on your own a little as well, if you feel you can go up to a different crime, try it and see what the outcome is.
